Funerals from the Heart recently celebrated the first year of trading. For those of you unfamiliar with the new business, we are a family run Independent Funeral Directors/Undertakers sited at the Old Railway Inn Pub on Brook Street in Chester.
Mother, Daughter and Daughter-In-Law, Janette, Louise and Michelle generally meet and greet guests coming into the Parlour we are usually holding a large cup of tea as avid tea drinkers you are likely to be encouraged to participate in this rictual. Coffee drinkers are welcome too. Cake Friday is a must!
What sets us apart from other local Funeral Directors?
Like most of our competitors we can provide unusual hearses such as horse drawn, bicycle, motorcycle and even an armoured tank! However, we appear to be unique within the local area in our ability to provide far more than an elaborate variety of transport.
FFTH have a large beautiful Funeral Parlour that can easily transform its interior layout to suit a particular function or setting. During an in-house funeral ceremony the premises can operate as a chapel, parlour and wake venue. This adaptability is a somewhat different trend to the typical office style of property commonly used by funeral firms.
Full memorial ceremonies can be orchestrated and conducted in the FFTH Parlour by either a Minister or Celebrant. These in-house funeral services save weeks of waiting time for burials during busy periods. The pace of the memorial can be slowed down to suit the family’s needs. Poems, readings, songs or prayers can be shared in comfort amongst friends and family with refreshments on hand.
The premises are ideal for hosting overnight vigils and catered wakes. You can request any food types or even bring your own. The parlour’s speciality is serving Traditional English Afternoon Tea, consisting of freshly prepared mixed sandwiches, a selection of homemade cakes and delicious scones complemented with good quality clotted cream.
Staff can prepare a slide show of photos to be displayed on the screens throughout the Crematorium Chapel Service and at the Wake venue. The images are saved to DVD disc and given to the family to keep.
The business owner Janette has the LLB Bachelor of Laws qualification and specialises in Wills and Probate matters. Professional Wills are drafted for only £50. A free will reading service is available together with free probate guidance.
Prepayment funeral schemes are offered, but, before you are guided through such avenues staff meticulously check to see if you are entitled to receive funding from alternative sources. Honesty and integrity in protecting potential customers from parting with money unnecessarily is heart-warming and a refreshing change which speaks volumes for our character.
